Match Time Zone, Language and Geolocation to Your Proxy in AdsPower and GoLogin

A US proxy with a Shanghai time zone gives the game away. How to make time zone, language and geolocation follow the proxy IP in AdsPower and GoLogin, and the test to run after every change.

IPTested Editorial · ·5 min read

The most common avoidable mistake in an anti-detect browser is a profile whose proxy says one country while its time zone, language and geolocation still say another. This walkthrough goes setting by setting through AdsPower and GoLogin, with a check after each change.

A note on accuracy: setting names come from each vendor's documentation and our earlier tutorials. Both apps update often, so menus and labels in your version may differ.

Before you start: make sure the proxy is right

"Follow the IP" only works if the IP's location data is right. Outside the anti-detect browser, look up your proxy's exit IP on ipinfo.io and confirm the country, city and ASN match what you bought. If an IP database places your "New York" proxy in New Jersey, every setting derived from it will follow suit.

For long-lived accounts, use a dedicated static IP. Two options from our partners, as listed on 2026-10-05: IPFoxy dedicated static residential at $7.99/month with unlimited data in 25+ countries, and Proxy-Seller ISP proxies from $0.98 per IP over HTTP, HTTPS or SOCKS5. Check current prices on their sites.

For a full IP vetting routine, see How to Check if a Proxy IP Is Clean.

AdsPower, step by step

Step 1: Add the proxy and run the check. Create a new profile, choose Custom in the proxy section and pick the proxy type. AdsPower's docs list HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS5 and SSH. Enter the details as IP:port:username:password and click Check proxy. Don't continue until you see the connection test pass. If you're unsure which protocol your provider issued, see SOCKS5 vs HTTP Proxy.

IPFoxy users can use the integration AdsPower documents: copy the proxy token from the IPFoxy dashboard, paste it into the Proxy Token field in AdsPower and sync. Your IPFoxy proxies then appear in a dropdown when you create profiles.

Step 2: Time zone, geolocation and language. In the fingerprint settings, AdsPower's documentation lists these defaults:

Setting Default Other options
Time zone Based on IP Real (system), Custom
Geolocation Based on IP Custom, Block
Language Based on IP Custom

Keep Based on IP. Override only with a concrete reason, for example when the person operating the account genuinely lives in that market and the language should reflect the real user. If you change one setting, re-check that the others still make sense alongside it.

Step 3: WebRTC. The modes are Forward, Replace, Real, Disabled and Disabled UDP. AdsPower's docs recommend Forward for high-security websites. Never pick Real, which exposes your device's own IP.

Click OK to save.

GoLogin, step by step

Step 1: Add the proxy and run the check. In the profile's proxy section, choose the protocol (HTTP or SOCKS5), enter host, port, username and password, and run the connection check.

Step 2: Let the values follow the proxy. GoLogin can fill time zone, geolocation and language from the proxy IP automatically. In most cases, leave that automatic matching on. Toggle names vary between versions, so look for the options tied to the proxy or IP in your build.

Step 3: Confirm WebRTC. After launch, open a WebRTC leak test and make sure it reports the proxy IP, not your own.

Test after every change

Run these checks inside the profile, not in your everyday browser:

What Where to check What you want
Exit IP ipinfo.io Matches the proxy; country and city as expected
Time zone A page that reports the JavaScript time zone, such as BrowserLeaks' JavaScript test Same zone as the IP's location
Language A page showing navigator.language and the Accept-Language header Matches your setting
Geolocation A geolocation test page (it will trigger a permission prompt) Coordinates near the IP's location, or blocked if you chose that
WebRTC A WebRTC leak test Your own public IP never appears

If a check fails, fix that one setting, relaunch, and run the table again. Changing several things at once makes it hard to know which change helped.

The step people skip: switching proxies

When you swap the proxy on an existing profile, say from Los Angeles to New York, don't assume the derived values update themselves. Do three things:

  1. Re-run the proxy check.
  2. Close the profile and launch it again.
  3. Run the full test table again, paying most attention to time zone.

Countries that span several time zones, such as the US, Russia, Australia, Canada or Brazil, are where a city change most often means a time zone change too.

Troubleshooting

  • The time zone is right but the city is off. IP databases often disagree at city level. As long as the zone matches, this is usually harmless. If the country is wrong, contact your provider.
  • Geolocation shows coordinates far from the IP. Check whether the setting was switched to Custom at some point. Based on IP or Block avoids this.
  • The language looks wrong in some places. Remember there are two signals: the Accept-Language header and navigator.language. A good check page shows both, and they should agree.
  • Everything checks out but the proxy check fails occasionally. That's a proxy or network issue rather than a fingerprint one; rerun the check and contact the provider if it persists.

Why "follow the IP" beats manual values

Manual values go stale. You set them once, months later someone swaps the proxy to fix a connection problem, and now the profile reports a time zone three hours off. Derived values move with the proxy, which is what you want in a team where more than one person touches profiles. Reserve manual overrides for settings that reflect a real human choice, like language, and document why you made them in the profile's notes.

Recap

  • Confirm the proxy's location data first; everything else depends on it.
  • Leave time zone, geolocation and language on the IP-based defaults unless you have a reason not to.
  • Test inside the profile after every change, and repeat the whole routine whenever the proxy changes.

Consistent settings mean a profile is configured correctly, not that it's undetectable; no tool can honestly promise that. How an account fares depends on operating it within the platform's rules.
